FEXLAW Lawyers signed a Pact for Integrity

On October 20, within the framework of the “Sustainable Ecuador Leader’s Summit 2020” event, the Integrity Pact was signed, in which Fexlaw Lawyers and 47 other organizations assumed commitments of integrity, transparency and the fight against corruption. This is an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact Ecuador Network together with EY Ecuador, leader of the Roundtable for SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Solid Institutions.

The signing of this pact will focus the commitment of the Ecuadorian private sector with ethical and integrity practices, especially relevant in the current situation that our country is unfortunately going through. The expectation is that this is not a solely symbolic agreement, but rather that organizations can commit to:

  • Maintain and disseminate in their organizations, zero tolerance to acts of public and / or private corruption.
  • Implement and maintain anti-corruption programs and policies or part of them, to mitigate the risk of corruption in their organizations, for which they can count on the assistance of the SDG 16 working group.
  • Share the progress and efforts in the fight against corruption carried out by your organization.
  • This commitment seeks to promote compliance with Principle 10 of the United Nations Global Compact, which establishes that “Companies must act against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.”

Fexlaw Lawyers takes integrity actions both within and outside its institution very seriously and this legal framework will help strengthen the execution of its integrity programs and guidelines and zero tolerance for corruption.
