Collaboration with NGO’s
Currently we maintain a permanent and coordinated work with the Animal Action Foundation in Quito where we provide free legal advice for the different cases they maintain and we also help socially the Abuelitos de la Calle Foundation where 400 homeless people from Quito have lunch daily.
Work with a gender perspective
We are members of the Global Compact Ecuador Chapter, specifically SDG 5 Gender Equality, we are committed to gender equality, generating mechanisms that contribute to preventing and eliminating gender discrimination and all forms of violence, that is why we are also part of the UN Women, signatories of the WEP’s (Principles of Female Empowerment for its acronym in English). We believe in training and communication on rights and equality, which is why we have held several webinars focused on gender and we have been part of campaigns and initiatives in the fight against violence against women and girls.
Examples of our work:
At FEXLAW Lawyers we take collaborating with our communities very seriously and we currently maintain several PRO BONO cases that are duly selected by the firm’s legal committee.
Examples of these cases are:
This case refers to the animal abuse suffered by a dog in the city of Quito who was savagely beaten and as a result of which she lost an eye. The criminal process managed to sanction the individual and set a precedent.
Sexual Abuse Cases
Currently, the Law Firm sponsors several causes on sexual exploitation of minors and women. It is an obligation of the firm to be able to collaborate to investigate and be able to punish those responsible.
