Karina Vallejo Bastidas is Head of Tax at Fexlaw. She is an expert in local taxes and international taxation, with more than 20 years of experience in tax advisory and litigation work in the private sector and at the Servicio de Rentas Internas (SRI, Internal Revenue Service).
At the SRI she was Head of the Legal and Tax Management Departments of the Regional Directorate, and held supervisory and coordinating positions in Tax Audit, Administrative Claims and Tax Refunds. She then led the tax department of a law firm in Quito and advised business groups and individuals for several years.
She earned her Law Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, a Master’s in Administrative Law from the UTPL and a Master’s in International Taxation from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja. She is a member of the Instituto Ecuatoriano de Derecho Tributario (Ecuadorian Institute of Tax Law).

At the SRI she was recognized as best trainer in the New Tax Risks Project. She is a member of the Instituto Ecuatoriano de Derecho Tributario.
