AgreeProtectRepresent

We advise business owners, executives and their families on divorce, custody, child support and property division, seeking agreements that reduce the emotional and financial toll. When negotiation is not possible, we represent you before the courts with resolve and complete confidentiality.

01 / Why Fexlaw

A family conflict is not resolved by a court ruling alone. We seek agreements that protect your family and your assets, and we litigate when it is the only way forward.

08 / Frequently asked questions

What clients often ask us.

General answers to common questions. Every family is different: write to us so we can review your case.

01

Can I get divorced without going to court?

Yes. When both spouses agree and there are no minor or dependent children, a divorce by mutual consent can be processed before a notary. If there are children, custody, visitation and child support must be resolved beforehand or within court proceedings.

02

How is child support determined?

The judge sets it based on the current table of minimum child support payments, the income of the paying parent and the number of children. Support can be reviewed if circumstances change.

03

What happens to my companies in a divorce?

Shares or equity interests acquired during the marriage may form part of the marital property. We analyze each case with our corporate law practice to protect the continuity of the business.

04

What are prenuptial agreements?

They are agreements between spouses, or future spouses, on how their property will be managed and divided. They can be executed before or during the marriage and help prevent future property disputes.

05

What if my former partner has assets abroad?

It is possible to investigate those assets and seek measures over them, although it requires a specific strategy. For those cases, we have a cross-border marital asset recovery practice.
