Nicole Romero Arévalo is an Associate in the Anti-Piracy practice at Fexlaw, where she helps protect rights and defend clients’ legal interests. She earned her law degree from Universidad Internacional SEK del Ecuador and holds a Master of Criminal Law with a focus on Complex Crime from Universidad de las Américas.
She specializes in anti-corruption and compliance management systems: she completed an Advanced Diploma in the ISO 37001 anti-bribery standard and trained as a compliance officer (ISO 37301) and internal auditor (ISO 37001:2016).
Before joining Fexlaw she practiced independently, defending and advising on criminal, constitutional and civil cases, and served as outside counsel to an agricultural export company, handling civil contracts, exports and the implementation of its anti-bribery system.

Basketball, CrossFit and rock.
A former professional basketball player, she was selected for the Pichincha Sports Federation team. Today she trains in CrossFit, where she enjoys her sports community, and spends her weekends on sport. She loves rock music and trying new sports.
As a Caritas volunteer, delegated by the pastoral team of Saint Dominic School, she supported those affected by the 2016 earthquake in Manabí and Esmeraldas.
